Topics Covered
A Donor Conception Community
Connect with other people who are pursuing or who have pursued donor conception - your new friends you didn’t know how bad you needed! This is such a unique and magical way to parenthood, and is important that you are surrounded by people who understand and can support you. We can’t wait to (virtually) wrap our arms around you!
Genetic Grief
We know what it feels like to have your DNA die with you - it’s definitely something worth grieving. Anger, resentment, jealousy, sadness are all normal feelings. We want to help you process and move through this grief. No one knows what this type of grief feels like until they have gone through it. We get it. We’ve been there.
The Perspective Shift
What were your expectations when you first started to build your family? When exploring donor conception there is often a gap between that expectation and where you are now. In this session, a licensed therapist and mother via donor conception will help make meaning of this process and provide coping tools to shift your perspective to your new love story.
Epigenetic Connections
Traditional genetics decide the way the DNA sequences in our genes are passed on, where epigenetics decide the way the genes are actually used. In this session, you will hear from Tim Jenkins PhD who has dedicated his entire career to studying Epigenetics and will be sharing his wisdom on the influence you could have on who your child becomes.
Fears Addressed by DC People
We provide a safe and validating space to help you grieve this loss and address the common fears that come with with conceiving via donor conception. In this session you will get to hear from Donor Conceived Adults as they share their personal experiences. Peer into the eyes of your future child and get your questions answered.
Radical Acceptance
We understand that this journey to parenthood comes with complexities, but at the end of a long, hard journey, you can still reach the most beautiful destination and we want to help you imagine exactly that. This session will conclude the series as we radically accept this path and the diversity of family building.

I can’t say enough positive things about my experience in Victoria’s Donor Conception Course, and just Victoria as a whole! This course gave my husband and I a lot of insight into this community and love and support to know that we are from from being alone. I was given the courage and tools to make the best decision we’ve ever made and am now sitting here 8 months pregnant with our miracle baby and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I was part of the Donor Conception group in Fall 2021; it was life changing for me. Not only did I gain friendships, but also knowledge and understanding about donor conception. Victoria and all of the guest speakers did a wonderful job speaking on their areas of expertise and facilitating discussions around difficult topics. I would highly recommend this group if you are considering donor conception to grow your family. I still am in touch weekly with many members of my group.I will be forever grateful for Victoria opening our eyes to donor conception. We now have our miracle rainbow baby in our arms and I believe much of this is in part to the knowledge and connections made two years ago!!

“When I signed up for the Donor Conception Journey support group, I was in a dark place. I had just been diagnosed with premature ovarian failure at 32 years old and was told my only route to pregnancy was using donor eggs. It was the saddest I had ever been. Signing up for that support group was THE best thing I could have done for myself. Not only did I get to be inspired by Victoria — who gets all the mixed emotions that come with being told to use donor eggs, and is now an awesome mama to two kids via egg donation — but I got to see that I wasn't alone. All of a sudden, there were 15 other women walking in the same shoes as me at the same time. They all shared the same fears, stress, sadness, and — most importantly — hope. It made the unfathomable, fathomable.”

“I have participated in a total of three Infertility Unfiltered support groups and this organization has been life-changing! The group for secondary infertility, along with interviews and posts by the organization's founder Victoria Niño, helped me grieve past losses, opened me to new possibilities for growing my family and inspired me to ultimately pursue donor eggs. I then joined the Donor Conception Journey group after I was already pretty far along in the process (having selected a donor and successfully transferred an embryo), knowing that I still had a lot to learn about parenting my donor-conceived child. This group, and the subsequent Donor Conception: Destination series, gave me exactly what I was looking for: both a ton of knowledge and tools for navigating what's ahead, and an awesome new community! Hearing from donor-conceived adults, fellow parents, scientists and counselors in this field was especially helpful in both assuaging my greatest fears, and preparing me for things I hadn't previously considered, like supporting my child in researching their genetic connections if they choose. I really appreciate that this organization features so many expert guests as well as concrete actions/“assignments”, from journaling to yoga, that allow us to process and share our experiences in meaningful ways.
